THE Ipswich Hospital Foundation has become the fifth Ipswich group to receive proceeds from the Ipswich Community Charity Fund.

IHF joins the Salvation Army, Ipswich Hospice, iNcommunity and Ipswich Domestic Violence Action Centre to receive a cheque for $37,700.

The latest charity support payment finalises the dispersement of all donations that were held in the fund which was established more than a decade ago by former mayor Paul Pisasale.

Over the years the fund has assisted many worthwhile causes and needy families.

Cr Paul Tully who was a member of the Ipswich Community Charity Fund committee said it has now been wound up.

A second charity fund, the City of Ipswich Community Fund has around $80,000 in the bank.

Cr Tully said its committee was in the process of deciding where those funds would go.“Once that money is cleared this final fund will also be wound up,” he said.
