The winners of this year’s Christmas Lights Competition, presented by Nine News Queensland, were announced this week. And as you can see from the picture, the residential champion was truly stunning.
Council community, culture, arts and sport committee chair Councillor Andrew Fechner said 88 businesses, homes and streets entered the competition this year.

“The Christmas Lights Competition has become a beloved tradition in our city, and this year’s entrants have perfectly captured the magic of the season,” Cr Fechner said.

STRUD presented the winner’s prize to 36 Mahogany St, Raceview, for its truly spectacular display. Chasing it as runner up was perennial favourite 1 Paul Tully Ave, Collingwood Park. It was chosen as People’s Choice, presented by Choices Flooring by Mallets, Ipswich. And Paul Tully Ave would itself be a winner, chosen as best street presented by Event Cinemas Springfield.

NEARLY 2,500 people enjoyed a special night on Sunday at 36 Mahogany St, Raceview. They came to enjoy the display and every child received a gift.

Mick and Kim do the display every year and it deservedly scoops prizes, this year taking out the City’s lights contest. Kids delighted in characters they love wandering around, including Bluey and Bingo.
