IPSWICH Hospital Foundation’s just released annual report has revealed they funded a record $609,000 towards local health care in the past financial year.
The money was used for medical equipment, facility upgrades, staff development and research across West Moreton Health.
As well as raising funds IHF also co-ordinates hospital volunteers and last year that team numbered 270 and contributed to more than 13,000 hours of support. IHF CEO, Scott Young, said the report showed they made a significant impact through various initiatives, including the purchase of 30 pieces of essential medical equipment.
“These included two mammography chairs, a mobile stereotaxis chair for BreastScreen Queensland, as well as an ultrasound machine for the Oncology Ward and essential equipment for the Children’s Ward at Ipswich Hospital,” he said.
“Beyond equipment, IHF has focused on enhancing the patient experience at hospitals across the entire region .”
