IPSWICH is emerging as one of Queensland’s strongest property performers, with new data showing the region’s suburbs are helping lead a broader shift towards outer metropolitan living.
According to the latest Property Market Update from InfoTrack, buyer demand in the first quarter of 2026 has surged across Brisbane’s commuter corridors – particularly in Ipswich, where affordability, space, and connectivity are proving a powerful combination.
The report, which analysed sales between January 1 and March 31, places Ipswich firmly in the spotlight.
Springfield Lakes climbed to second position among Queensland’s top-performing suburbs, while Redbank Plains continues to attract sustained buyer interest.
InfoTrack Chief Operating Officer Lee Bailie said the results reflect a clear change in buyer priorities.
“Buyers are looking for larger blocks and better value within commuting distance of Brisbane,” Mr Bailie said.
For Ipswich, that shift is translating into strong demand across its established and emerging communities.
Suburbs such as Springfield Lakes are benefiting from master-planned development, access to schools, retail centres, and transport links, while Redbank Plains continues to appeal to buyers seeking affordability without sacrificing proximity to Brisbane.
The region’s growth is also being underpinned by infrastructure investment and population expansion, positioning Ipswich as a key corridor for long-term housing demand.
Ipswich stands out for its balance of lifestyle and value – an increasingly important factor for first-home buyers and families.
The data also reinforces the continued dominance of detached housing, which accounted for more than 60 per cent of all property sales across Queensland in the quarter.
It is a trend particularly evident in Ipswich.
