IPSWICH City Council has reaffirmed its long-standing support for one of the city’s most cherished traditions, endorsing a three-year sponsorship partnership worth $90,000 for the Ipswich Show.

The commitment will see Council provide $30,000 in sponsorship for each of the 2026, 2027 and 2028 Ipswich Shows, helping the Ipswich Show Society continue to deliver the major annual event that attracts around 30,000 people each year.

Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said Council was proud to support events that deliver strong economic, social and cultural benefits for the community.

“The Ipswich Show is among the many annual events that boost our tourism and hospitality industries and help ensure our city remains vibrant and cohesive,” Mayor Harding said.

“For 152 years, the Ipswich Show has been an integral part of Ipswich’s identity, celebrating our pastoral and agricultural foundations while providing fantastic entertainment for the whole community.”

Mayor Harding said the three-year partnership would provide certainty for organisers and ensure the show continues to thrive as a cornerstone event on the city’s calendar.

Division 3 Councillor Andrew Antoniolli said the show remains a powerful link to Ipswich’s past and its agricultural roots.

Economic and Cultural Development Committee Chairperson Councillor Pye Augustine said the Ipswich Show delivers significant flow-on benefits for the local economy.
