A NEW chapter for sports in Ipswich has begun with the official launch of the Ipswich Regional Sports Academy.
The city’s first dedicated sports academy is designed to help student-athletes strike a balance between high-performance sport and academic achievement.
With tailored training and support, athletes will have access to elite coaching and the resources necessary to compete at the highest levels, while still excelling in their education.
This collaborative initiative between Bremer State High School and the University of Southern Queensland is designed to provide elite training, expert coaching and academic support to young athletes in the region.
The program kicked off its inaugural year last week at Bremer SHS, offering local student-athletes the chance to hone their skills under the guidance of world-class coaches, while also excelling in their academic studies at the same time.
“The academy will offer young athletes the opportunity to pursue their sporting ambitions and achieve success at every level,” said a spokesperson from Bremer SHS.
“Whether that’s locally, nationally, or even representing Australia at the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
“We’re excited to offer this program to the Ipswich community and help shape the future of our local athletes.”
