IPSWICH Mens Shed is another group that offers much more than just getting guys out of the house.

  • Pipe bands
  • Grammar Old Boys

They recently celebrated their 10th birthday and the group has been a support and place of development and mentoring for many men in that time.

They had a garage sale on Saturday with a lot of craftsmanship on display.

Terry and his team are always welcoming of new members and if you are interested, contact them on their FB page.

Ace them Archie

LOCAL tennis player Archie Graham is about to travel to France to endeavour to retain his World number one ranking in tennis for people with Intellectual impairment (PWII).

Australian Open Champion Archie was presented with a gift for his trip from the Ipswich Tennis Centre where he trains, plays and coaches.

All the best Archie on your tour.

It was all things Scottish at Timothy Moloney Oval.

Pipe bands

Most weekends our city has so much on offer with sports, the arts and events.

Timothy Moloney Oval was home to the Gathering on Saturday which saw pipe bands competing from across SE Queensland.

It was a great event and was supported by an appreciative crowd that enjoyed the offerings.

Well done to organisers, and it’s always good to see and hear our City of Ipswich Pipe Band. I’m looking forward to next year’s event already.

REUNION: Ipswich Grammar School’s top soccer side didn’t let the Old Boys down when they returned to the school over the weekend to watch them play. The First Eleven won 4-1.

Grammar Old Boys

It was Old Boys day at the Ipswich Grammar School’s Brassall fields as the top two teams took on arch rivals Brisbane Grammar.

It was a great afternoon and was even more enjoyable as the firsts recorded a big 4-1 win.

Well done boys and I’m looking forward to Old Boys day back at the school when the boys compete in basketball and rugby.

Support day

MND is a cruel disease that can affect anyone.

It was good to see friends and family of the Eagles AFC gather at Limestone Park for a fundraiser for one of their extended family members.

It’s always good to see community rallying to support their own, and I love the camaraderie and support that being part of a club brings. Playing sport has so much more to offer than just enjoyment.

Well done to the organisers and thank you to those that contributed to such a worthy cause.
