JMC Academy is proud to announce the launch of JMC: Creative Headstart.
This pathway program grants eligible high school students the chance to undertake a unit or two from a JMC Academy degree while completing their high school studies.
This exciting opportunity came about when an ambitious Year 11 student, Grace Alexandra, asked to begin her studies at JMC Academy sooner, rather than later.
Grace is an emerging and supremely talented First Nations singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in South East Queensland enrolled with Caboolture State High School.
Caboolture State High School was supportive of Grace’s ambition and worked closely with JMC Academy to support Grace in beginning her creative degree. Thus, JMC: Creative Headstart was created.
“This pilot represents an exciting opportunity to reimagine how students transition into higher education,” said JMC Academy Chief Customer and Student Officer Chaminda Ranasinghe.
“By working closely with schools, we can provide capable students with early access to tertiary learning experiences while ensuring they remain supported throughout their secondary education journey.
“We are delighted to welcome Grace as the first student participating in this initiative and are excited to learn from the pilot as we explore future pathways that can increase access, confidence, and readiness for higher education.”
Students in the program will be guided by industry professionals and can access elite facilities as they hone their talents in areas including: l Music l Acting l Film and TV Production l Audio Engineering and Sound Production l Entertainment Business Management
