IPSWICH Councillor, Nicole Jonic, flew the flag for Ipswich as Motorsport Australia launched the Queensland ‘Parliamentary Friends of Motorsport’ group.

She joined parliamentarians from both sides of politics to hear from co-convenors Bart Mellish MP and Steve Minnikin MP about the reasons behind forming the group.

Motorsport Australia CEO Eugene Arocca also addressed the attendees to emphasise how important motorsport is from a sporting, community, social, and economic point of view.

Following the successful launch, Mr Arocca lauded the new initiative and said he believed it could have a major impact on the sport in Queensland.
