THE Lockyer Valley is set to burst into bloom this September as one of Queensland’s favourite country festivals returns with Bluey, live music, classic cars, spectacular floral displays and three days of authentic country hospitality.

The Laidley Spring Festival will transform Laidley and nearby Forest Hill from September 11 to 13 into a colourful celebration of community, local produce, entertainment and springtime traditions, offering families the perfect excuse for a country escape.

The much-loved, dog-friendly festival continues to grow as more Queenslanders embrace slower travel and authentic regional experiences close to home, with country pubs, farm-fresh produce, boutique accommodation, glamping, campgrounds and scenic drives all adding to the experience.

Lockyer Valley Mayor Tanya Milligan said the festival celebrated everything people loved about country Queensland.

“The Laidley Spring Festival is about celebrating everything people love about country Queensland – community, connection, local talent, great food and good old-fashioned hospitality,” Cr Milligan said.

“Whether you’re coming for the day or making a weekend of it, you’ll find something to love. It’s colourful, welcoming, incredibly photogenic and packed with genuine country charm.”

Festivities begin on Friday with the popular Twilight Feast & Fest at Laidley Recreational Reserve, where the Rheanna Leschke Band, Maddi and the Dreamers and ANTHEMS! Live Band will perform beneath festoon lights alongside food vendors, market stalls and roving entertainers.

Visitors can also explore the Spring Orchid Show, Quilt and Craft Show, Spring Art Exhibition and the historic Das Neumann Haus, serving German favourites including apple strudel, sausages, Devonshire teas and fresh coffee.

Families can enjoy the popular Under 5s Day packed with activities and entertainment.

Saturday brings the festival’s biggest day, beginning with the iconic Grand Street Parade featuring colourful Country Harvest-themed floats, vintage vehicles, marching bands and community groups.

Bluey and Bingo will delight families in the Bluey Live Interactive Experience before Queensland country-pop favourites The Wet Whistles headline the afternoon entertainment alongside Kaitlyn Thomas and Chloe Marks and The Mayhem.

Motoring enthusiasts can admire hundreds of classic cars, hot rods, custom vehicles and motorcycles at the Spring Show ‘n’ Shine, while gardeners can browse the Spring Gardening Fair and floral displays.

Food lovers can visit The Producer’s Patch for live cooking demonstrations showcasing the Lockyer Valley’s renowned produce.

The festival concludes on Sunday with Bee Happy Day at Forest Hill, featuring arts and crafts, face painting, dancing, artisan markets, local food and family entertainment.

It’s an opportunity to slow down and soak up genuine country hospitality.
