THE district will soon see six new police officers coming to local stations in one of the biggest injections for local policing in the past few years.

Springfield and Ipswich stations will get two new recruits, while Yamanto and Goodna will get one extra officer.

The new officers graduated from the Queensland Police Academy last week. State MP for Ipswich, Jennifer Howard congratulated the new officers on their decision to pursue a career in community safety.

“I’m looking forward to seeing these first year constables out and about in our community, keeping us safe,” she said.

“These new recruits will be at the forefront of policing in our community. State MP for Jordan, Charis Mullen said the government was committed to keeping all Queenslanders safe by boosting police
resources.

“We have committed to rolling out 2025 extra police personnel over five years to boost community safety,” Ms Mullen said.
