RE-ELECTED for a seventh term as the Federal Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann says he has hit the ground running, with a strong focus on delivering critical infrastructure projects and easing cost of living pressures across Ipswich and the Somerset Region.
Mr Neumann said his immediate priority would be ensuring major projects already funded by the Albanese Government are delivered in partnership with the State Government and local councils.
“I will be working to ensure the important infrastructure projects that I have secured funding for are prioritised and delivered,” Mr Neumann said.
“I will be advocating for the State Government to match the Albanese Government’s $200 million towards the Amberley Interchange.”
He said other key priorities included the strengthening works for the Bremer River Bridge, which received $42.5 million in federal funding in the 2024 Federal Budget, and the $138.5 million upgrade to the Mt Crosby Interchange.
In addition to major road and transport upgrades, Mr Neumann outlined a broad slate of community projects that he intends to progress.
“I will be working with local councils and the State Government to ensure delivery of upgrades to the Brisbane Valley Highway, the Ipswich Basketball Stadium extension, the new Ripley Rugby League and Sports Centre, and upgrades to the YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre,” he said.
Further community investments include the House of India community and cultural centre, the expansion of the Chuwar Koala and Native Fauna Conservation Park, a new headspace mental health facility in Redbank Plains, and upgrades to the Lowood Pool.
Mr Neumann thanked voters in Ipswich and the Somerset Region for their continued support, which secures continued Labor representation in Blair, with a strong mandate to deliver on infrastructure and cost of living relief.
