QUEENSLAND Raceway is enjoying for one of its biggest weeks of the year, with Powercruise 100 bringing seven days of horsepower, burnouts, cruising and on-track action to Ipswich from September 7-13.

The milestone 100th running of Powercruise is a major celebration for the event, with thousands of fans, entrants and some of the toughest modified cars in the country descending on the circuit.

Powercruise has built its reputation around giving enthusiasts the chance to use their cars rather than simply park them up, and that formula will again be at the heart of the Queensland Raceway program.

The signature Powercruise track sessions will once again give entrants the opportunity to hit the circuit alongside everything from street-driven V8s and turbo imports to rotaries, muscle cars and heavily modified builds.

For many entrants, the cruising sessions remain the heart of the event, combining huge numbers of cars with the relaxed atmosphere that has helped Powercruise build such a loyal following.

Things get considerably louder when the Powerskids hit the track.

One of Powercruise’s most popular attractions, the Powerskids give drivers the opportunity to throw horsepower at Queensland Raceway in front of the crowd, with tyre smoke, sideways action and plenty of limiter expected throughout the event.

No Powercruise would be complete without burnouts.

The burnout competition is again expected to attract some serious machinery, with competitors chasing maximum smoke and crowd reaction while pushing engines, tyres and drivetrains to their limits.

With Powercruise celebrating event number 100, expect plenty of drivers to arrive ready to put on a show.

Away from the circuit, Powercruise 100 will carry the usual festival atmosphere through the pits and camping areas.
