RED HOT: FUCOPA lets loose for the Powercruise Dream team.

WHAT a weekend for Powercruise Promotions with the annual running of the Supercheap Auto Powercruise event at Queensland Raceway.

Powercruise for those who don’t know is Australia’s biggest cruising car show created by a local plumber turned event promoter Michael “Gup” Gilbert.

It’s an event open to all makes and models of cars and gives like-minded people giving a chance to bring out their pride and joy and really let loose in a safe and controlled environment alongside other automotive fans.

It keeps it off the street and lets the entrants have a chance to really prove who has the ultimate cruiser. Cars from all around the country head to the events that bring a massive amount of money into the local economy over the weekend with accommodation, food, automotive shops, and everything in between.

Like the local laps that we had last month these car events really benefit our local small business owners.

Powercruise is one of the events where you don’t even have to like cars.

It’s fun just check out everything from burnouts, racing, classic cars, and drifting.

Now with Tony Quinn from Queensland Raceway investing to improve the track, providing more shaded spectator areas and more amenities it really has put QR back on the map.

The event is broken up into Cruising Sessions, Off Street Racing, Drifting, Powerskids, Kids Races, Hour of Power and the always anticipating Dream Team.

Gups dream team is the elite of the elite, think the navy seals of the car scene, and they put on several shows each day and really got the crowd pumping.

One of the best parts of the event is the kid’s races which gives the little ones a chance to have a running race on the famous paperclip with all the kids getting a prize.

But as Gup says it’s not about the prizes it’s the look on the faces of our future generations having a blast. Powercruise has a four day mega show in September each year and a three one day mini versions called Powerplay.

If Powercruise sounds like an event you want to check out, head over to www.powercruise.com and lock yourself in for the wildest cruising car show you will ever see.
