ATTEMPTED ROBBERY CHARGES, SOUTH RIPLEY

Police have charged a 23-year-old Southport man with multiple offences following an attempted robbery in a South Ripley home on October 29.

Police will allege the man attended a Frankland St address shortly before 8.30am and threatened the occupants with a handgun.

It will be further alleged he fled shortly afterwards in a stolen red Mazda 3.

The Mazda 3 was involved in a single-vehicle crash when it hit a pole along the Bruce Highway near the Mary River Rd overpass in Cooroy just before 4pm.
