MORE than 9100 new residential lots will be unlocked throughout Ripley, with ranking in the top three suburbs in growth this past quarter.
The State Government announced support for new and upgraded Ripley Valley infrastructure last week, with two new infrastructure agreements signed by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ), including a major upgrade to Ripley Rd and Deebing Creek sewer works.
One infrastructure agreement with Ipswich City Council, worth $24 million, will unlock an estimated 4600 lots in the Ripley Valley through the four-lane upgrade of a section of Ripley Rd between Cunningham Hwy and Monterea Rd.
Another agreement, worth $3.5 million, is with developers Stockland and Moremac for trunk sewer works in turn unlocking an estimated 4500 lots.
Minister for Small Business and Employment and Member for Bundamba Lance McCallum said the infrastructure upgrade announcement would help to expand local roads quicker, allowing greater accessibility to the region.
“We need this expansion as soon as possible for existing residents and commuters and will help ensure more new homes as this our community continues to grow,” Mr McCallum said.
“The upgraded Ripley Rd will be a vital link providing the north-south connectivity needed to open up new precincts of the Ripley Valley PDA.”
Minister for State Development and Infrastructure Grace Grace said the infrastructure was essential for the fast-growing region.
Ipswich Mayor Teresa Harding said the partnership with State Government continued to deliver throughout Ipswich.
“Ipswich is one of the fasting-growing cities in Queensland, and Ipswich City Council is focused on building local roads that keep our city moving,” she said. “Council is delighted to partner with the Queensland Government to deliver $39.3 million in infrastructure.”
