RIPLEY Valley State Secondary College celebrated two milestones last week with its first class of seniors graduating and attending formal.

The school, located between Springfield and Ipswich Central, opened with 134 students in 2020 and the student population has grown to see an enrolment of 1050, with a full capacity of 2000.

This year, the school marked many other great milestones involving the foundation Year 12 cohort graduates.

These included:

  • Showcasing a range of unique, specialist academies including Football Excellence, IGNITE (Academic Excellence), Dance, and eSports, as well as a brand-new Health Hub with a simulated hospital ward to help train senior students for work in the nursing field.
  • The brand new state-of-the-art Performing Arts building opened.
  • Quantum Tech Camp 2024 – one Year 11 student has been selected as one of the Queensland state schools’ representatives in the international event. The student is a two-time Coding Champion of the Premier’s Coding Challenge.
  • The official opening of the school’s new Health Hub (simulated hospital ward).

Having opened its gates for enrolments in 2020, this is the first graduating class of seniors as the College continues to thrive and show that they can be a leader in education, sports, and the arts.
