A ROSEWOOD man is revving up his dreams of cruising around town in a shiny new car after scoring a flashy million-dollar win in Lotto’s Weekday Windfall draw.

So far in 2024, there have been nine major lottery wins in the Ipswich, Lockyer Valley and Somerset region, collectively taking home more than $7.85 million.

The man’s winning marked 15-game entry was purchased at Rosewood Newsagency.

“Thank you so much,” he shared when an official from The Lott confirmed his newfound treasure.

“I just went down to the newsagency to see if the winning news was true, and it’s true!

“I gave the newsagency owner a big hug. I’ve been visiting their store for about six months now.

“Times have been pretty tough, so this couldn’t have come at better time.

“It feels pretty good.

“I’ve wanted to buy a new car, but now I’ll be able to buy an even better one!”

Rosewood Newsagency owner Amy Wang said she was thrilled and proud when she found out her store had sold the winning ticket.

“It’s not only a great achievement for our store but also a wonderful gift for our community. We’ll put up celebratory signs in the store and share the exciting news with our customers,” she said.

“I believe our customers will feel very excited and inspired! It’s a wonderful surprise just before Christmas, and it might make people even more hopeful and enthusiastic about trying their luck.”

She said the last time the store sold a division one winning entry was in October of last year – another memorable event.

“We’re extremely proud to be a store that has sold multiple winning tickets in our community,” she said.

“We want to thank all of our customers for their incredible support and trust over the past five years.

“Congratulations to the winner! This is an amazing Christmas gift – enjoy this wonderful moment and your good fortune. I hope the prize brings you happiness and new possibilities in life.”

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 393 so far in 2024.
