SALSA has stamped herself as one of the most exciting young chasers in Queensland, proving her favouritism with a dominant victory in the $24,000 Eric Thomson Memorial Final over 457 metres at Q1 Lakeside on Saturday night.
Sent to the boxes as a $1.95 favourite, the Greg Stella-trained greyhound delivered in emphatic style, charging away to score by seven-and-a-half lengths over Terra Bella ($13), with Living Legend ($4.20) in third.
The performance was not only visually impressive but backed up on the clock, with Salsa running a best time of the night time of 25.15sec.
The victory followed a strong lead-in performance the week prior, where Salsa took out her heat by 2.25 lengths as a $1.30 favourite, signalling her intent early in the series.

The son of Aussie Infrared and Regal Opal justified his $1.28 favouritism with a commanding three-length victory over 352 metres, bringing up his fifth consecutive win.
Hayden’s Gift now boasts an outstanding record of seven wins and two placings from 10 starts, a 70 per cent strike rate.
