A flash of scarlet red and royal purple is bringing smiles across Ipswich as more women discover friendship, laughter and connection through Scarlet Royals Ipswich, a local chapter of the internationally renowned Red Hat Society.

Founded by Ipswich resident Viktoria Onnie, Scarlet Royals was established with a simple but powerful purpose, to create a welcoming space where women can build meaningful friendships, enjoy new experiences and feel a
genuine sense of belonging.

For Ms Onnie, bringing people together has always been close to her heart.

“I have always valued friendship, community and creating spaces where women feel welcome and connected,” she said.

“Bringing women together and seeing new friendships develop is something that brings me great joy.”

The Red Hat Society is a global social organisation that encourages women to embrace fun, friendship, laughter and adventure.

Recognisable by their vibrant red hats and purple outfits, Red Hatters are hard to miss, but Ms Onnie said the colourful attire represents far more than a fashion statement.

“For many women, particularly as they grow older, there can be a feeling of becoming less visible in society,” she said.

“The Red Hat Society turns that idea on its head.

“The colours are a joyful declaration that we are still here, still vibrant, still living life fully and not prepared to fade into the background.”
