FAMILIES across the Scenic Rim are being encouraged to “catch the buzz” these Easter school holidays, with a packed program of free and low-cost activities set to transform libraries and cultural centres into
vibrant hubs of creativity and play.

From enchanted gardens and bug encounters to circus skills and LEGO workshops, the diverse program aims to keep children entertained while easing cost-of-living pressures for local families.

A major highlight of the program is A Bee Story, an award-winning circus performance coming to The Centre Beaudesert on April 14.

Created by ARC Circus, the show follows Queen Bee and Worker Bee in a visually stunning tale of teamwork, blending acrobatics, juggling, dance and live music.

Aspiring performers can also step into the spotlight at Boonah Cultural Centre, where a full-day circus workshop invites children to try trapeze, tumbling and juggling under expert guidance.

For young builders, stars of LEGO Masters Australia Andrew and Damian will host interactive “Street Racer” and “Alpha Bricks” sessions at Vonda Youngman Community Centre, giving kids the chance to design, race and take home their own LEGO creations.

Nature lovers are also well catered for, with Scenic Rim Libraries hosting the “Green Thumbs & Enchanted Gardens” program.

Activities range from fairy storytelling and craft to hands-on worm composting, seedling planting and bug discovery sessions designed to spark curiosity about the natural world.

Meanwhile, families can drop into creative art sessions inspired by the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, or enjoy a

lineup of affordable films including How to Train Your Dragon and Zootopia at local centres.

Adding to the cultural offering, The Centre Beaudesert will also host a free exhibition based on Mr Chippa the Woodblock Carver of Bagru by Ipswich artist Lee Fullarton, featuring a striking mural created by local students.

Full program details and bookings are available via the Creative Scenic Rim website.
