QUEENSLAND’S sporting landscape has received a major lift, with the State Government launching Sport Hub Queensland (Sport HQ) – a new resource designed to help clubs, volunteers and athletes thrive as the state gears up for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Sport HQ brings together practical tools, templates, training videos and expert guidance in one easy-to-use online platform, giving community sporting and racing organisations the support they need both on and off the field.
From governance and finances to participation pathways and volunteer development, the hub aims to strengthen the backbone of Queensland sport: its clubs.
The initiative forms part of the Government’s broader plan to elevate grassroots sport and ensure Queensland athletes, coaches and clubs have the structures in place to succeed long into the future.
Sport HQ will also tie into the state’s new 10-year Sport Strategy, set to be unveiled in early 2026.
State Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the resource gives clubs a competitive advantage as they prepare for a decade of growth.
“Sport HQ will support the local legends that power sport and racing in Queensland, allowing them to run their organisations with ease,” Mr Mander said.
“When we improve efficiency inside clubs, we free up time and energy for what matters – developing young Queenslanders who will fall in love with sport and chase their dreams.”
He said the platform responds directly to what clubs have been asking for: practical help that strengthens their operations and keeps them sustainable.
“The State Government backs grassroots sports and the racing industry, and we’re making sure our clubs have the resources they need to lift participation and prepare for the opportunities the 2032 Games will bring.”
Sport HQ is now live and available to all Queensland sporting and racing organisations, offering a new playbook for clubs aiming to build pathways for athletes.
