TWO significant developments are transforming the St John’s Anglican College campus, creating new opportunities for students and enriching the educational experience the College offers.
The new Senior School Precinct provides a purpose-built environment for senior learning and incorporates an indoor Learn to Swim Centre.
Alongside it, the new Aquatic Centre will introduce a 50-metre competition pool, significantly expanding the aquatic facilities and opportunities available to the College community.
Designed to meet the evolving needs of students as they progress towards their final years at St John’s, the Senior School Precinct combines flexible learning spaces with facilities that encourage collaboration, independence and connection.
At the heart of the two-storey building is a light-filled atrium, surrounded by eight general learning areas. Operable walls allow classrooms to be reconfigured to suit different learning activities, while the upper-level spaces can open into a larger area for cohort gatherings and examinations.
Located on the lower ground floor, the indoor Learn to Swim Centre provides a dedicated environment for children to develop essential swimming skills and build confidence in the water.
The facility features an 18-metre by 9-metre program pool, heated to 33 degrees Celsius and designed specifically for teaching young swimmers.
Ramp access supports accessibility, helping to accommodate a range of needs.
The development also includes an outdoor learning area and dedicated pool equipment storage, extending the facility’s practical and educational functions beyond the pool itself.
Beneath pool level, a new maintenance hub will provide workshop and storage facilities, offices, meeting spaces and amenities.
