Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Returns This Spring

Once again, the much-anticipated Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers returns, officially kicking off on September 20, with floral festivities beginning from September 12 and continuing over four vibrant weekends until October 6.

With the weather we’ve had this year, the displays and exhibits promise to be nothing short of spectacular.

Expect four unforgettable weekends featuring stunning floral displays by both the council and private entrants.

Parks and gardens across Toowoomba will be in full bloom, with special entries showcasing unique and unusual creations.

Live music, gourmet food, carnival rides, and a host of private showpiece properties will be open to the public – some for a small fee. It’s a feast for the senses and a celebration of community spirit.

If you’re planning a weekend escape to enjoy the mountain air, be aware that accommodation in Toowoomba tends to book out months in advance. However, there are many nearby towns that offer charming alternatives for a short stay.

As I mentioned in last year’s column, there are also plenty of farm stay properties in the surrounding area, all within easy driving distance.

The Carnival of Flowers website is a fantastic resource. You can plan your itinerary from the comfort of your home and even chat live with the team to tailor your visit for the best experience.

For the food lovers, there’s an exciting new addition this year: The Weekend Table – a multi-day, multi-venue series of 12 culinary events. These tables offer everything from breakfast and lunch to high tea and dinner, hosted at various locations throughout the region.

Celebrate spring in style and don’t miss the Grand Central Floral Parade as it winds its way through the heart of Toowoomba. There’s plenty for the kids too, with roving performers, carnival characters, and of course, the spectacular floats that make this year’s Carnival a must-see.

So, if you’re looking for a delightful short holiday away from the city, join the celebrations and immerse yourself in the beauty of the gardens.

Enjoy the experience!
