WITH two major campuses in Ipswich the annual performance reports of The University of Southern Queensland are always carefully overviewed by local students.

The latest report was encouraging news for those wanting to enrol with UniSQ.

The statistics revealed UniSQ is leading the state in employment outcomes with more than 80 per cent of undergraduate students employed full-time within four months of graduating.

The University received a maximum five-star report card in several key categories in The Good Universities Guide’s latest ratings, published this week.

The ratings are based on nationwide student and graduate surveys and higher education data. The top 20 per cent of universities in each category are awarded five-star ratings.

Five-star highlights include median starting salaries, full-time undergraduate employment, and best in Queensland for social equity and first generation students – confirming the University’s significant contribution to addressing national priorities for higher education.

UniSQ Vice-Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie said the positive outcomes showed the University provided clear career pathways. “We develop practical and relevant programs to ensure our graduates are in demand and well-equipped to enter the workforce,” she said.

“Collaborations with over 50 national and international industry partners provide our students with quality learning experiences that lead to excellent career outcomes.

“Our lecturers are leaders in their fields and share that knowledge and expertise with our students.”

The University of Southern Queensland led the state for undergraduate teaching quality for Communications and maintained five-star ratings in Education, Health Services, Science, and Mathematics. The positive results in the 2024 Good Universities Guide ratings come on the back of the University of Southern Queensland’s continued acceleration up university world rankings.

UniSQ moved into the top 301-350 band in the 2023 World University Rankings and the top two per cent of universities worldwide.
