A forty-minute drive from the Ipswich CBD, The Vue Restaurant offers scenic country views, great service and a menu that showcases the paddock to plate lifestyle.
Turning into the carpark, the restaurant in Boonah presents well wrapping class, that hard to capture country feel and scenery.
Owners Mikayla and Brendan Krueger welcome you, with Mikayla in the kitchen serving up this delicious menu while Brendan leads the front of house team.
The back deck fitted out with tables, seating and two wood fires makes for a perfect venue for all seasons and all event types. “Our tapas sessions have proven to be popular, but we actually looked the other day for when we can do another one but there were no available dates,” he said.
I looked at the menu before also deciding on a cocktail. My choice was the Banoffee pie cocktail – which captured the dessert perfectly from the creamy mix of banana liqueur and banana syrup topped with whip cream, crumble, and banana lollies at its peak.
The entrée, a house focaccia accompanied by garlic and chilli infused olive oil and smoked butter was the perfect starter for the meal.
The meal, a 200g Grain fed Wagyu rump was served with confit potatoes, buttered greens and thyme infused jus. No meal can be had without a dessert – says my philosophy anyway and The Vue’s Baklava Ice Cream Sandwich is a must try.
A classy version of an ice-cream sandwich with candied pastry and pistachios. The ice cream itself was perfumed with pistachios that sit on your tastebuds ending the meal perfectly. This was my first visit to The Vue but will be far from my last – the location, scenery, hospitality, and menu will have you returning.
