NOW when you take the kids to eat at Club Services Ipswich, you won’t just be giving to them. That’s because CSI has put in place a program to provide children with things they need at school to support local families who have been hit the hardest by the cost-of-living crisis. School chaplains are putting the program into action in schools.

CSI general manager Natalia Onoprichuk said $5 from every kids’ meal sold between October and early December was being donated to four local schools.

Ms Onoprichuk said she was aware that some families were finding it tough to make ends meet.

“We have all felt the strain from the rise in cost-of-living but some families are doing it really tough,” Ms Onoprichuk said. “We are hearing stories of some families who live in their car and will stay in the school carpark overnight so their kids get to school the next day.

“I know stories of other families whose kids go to school without lunch or
uniforms.”
