There comes a time in our lives, as we get older when some things just get a little too hard to manage.
But what do we do?
If you have led a rather full life, busy working or playing sport, looking after a family, maybe finally having to admit that this gardening thing is something you can do without. But you still like to garden. When you were younger, pulling out weeds, bending down, digging the soil and planting had all come second nature to you.
Now, it’s certainly a lot harder. However, ‘Don’t Give Up ‘. It’s nice to grow your own veges or flowers.
Maybe look at what tools you use in the garden.
Can you purchase different ones that do a better job while making it easier for you.
There is a whole range of battery-operated tools that can make your life a lot easier.
From secateurs and grass shears to small chain saws for larger cutting jobs and for your lawns, battery operated mowers of all sizes and blowers and whipper snippers, so easy to use, just make sure they’re charged ready for use.

Mulching deeply around your plants will keep most of the weeds down, while those that do get through can be easily pulled out.
Try sugar cane or tea tree or even straw mulch. Recycle your grass cuttings, just make sure you don’t place any mulch too close to the plants.
Ensure it is not too thick that the rain can’t get through, but thick enough that most of the weeds are suppressed.
If you don’t like getting your hands dirty and you want to keep your nails clean just use some cheap cotton gardening gloves.
On the hot days do small stints in the garden. Go inside before you get tired and reward yourself with a cool drink.
Once you have your patch under control, perhaps look at building above ground gardens, there’s plenty of ideas for you at the stores that cater for gardening.
Building up in timber or steel, is a distinct advantage if you find it hard to bend down.
