THE HAIR and Beauty Showcase at Ipswich State High School last week marked a significant anniversary while showcasing the talents of the students.

This year, the award-winning Hair and Beauty Department at the local school celebrated 15 years of operation.

The program has been a lighthouse for vocational education in schools, and the model has now been adopted by many schools across the state of Queensland.

The showcase is an exhibition of the senior students within the program. With a crowd of over 250 people in attendance, there was a great feel throughout the night.

Ipswich State High School acting principal Susan Taylor said the exhibition was another showcase of how the school was setting the pace across the board and changing the game for other schools to follow.

“What an amazing event that truly highlighted the talents of our ISHS students,” Ms Taylor said.

“Ensuring there are options for students to pursue their passion drives their motivation in their learning.

“This is really what Ipswich State High School is about.”

Ipswich State High School vocational trainer Amanda Robinson said the exhibition meant more to the students, staff and community than just another class.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our students at Ipswich State High School,” she said.

“Their hard work and dedication, combined with the innovative techniques they’ve mastered, truly showcase their commitment to excellence and their bright futures ahead.”
