Industry leaders, builders, and local representatives gathered early this month for the Grand Opening of The Fairways Acreage Display Village, a landmark joint venture between QM Properties and Master Builders Queensland in Kensington Grove.

The homes on display form Queensland’s largest acreage display village, showcasing diverse acreage living by leading builders including Hallmark Homes, G&P Builders, Stroud Homes, Coral Homes, Stylemaster Homes and G.J. Gardner Homes.

QM Properties General Sales Manager Damien Ross said the concept of a rural acreage display village had been years in the making and was built on the success of earlier projects.

“We actually pioneered this concept with Master Builders Queensland about 10 years ago down in Jimboomba Woods, Logan,” Mr Ross said.

“After a lot of success with that project, we thought we’d try to get something like this off the ground at The Fairways, and the location is perfect since it’s right across the road from the park.”

Fairways Park is a standout feature of the estate. Jointly funded by the Queensland Government and Lockyer Valley Regional Council, it includes a learn-to-ride area, dog park, barbecues, picnic facilities, adventure and sensory play zones, with future stages still to come.

Mr Ross said The Fairways display village draws homebuyers to the region but also highlights the Lockey Valley’s growing appeal as a lifestyle destination.

“The attraction of this area lies in its combination of modern facilities and a rural lifestyle,” he said.

“It appeals to buyers looking for a lifestyle change and most of our customers come from the surrounding areas, particularly Ipswich and Springfield. In fact, these areas account for about 50-60 per cent of all our buyers.”

Located in the heart of Kensington Grove, The Fairways spans more than 830 acres of elevated land across three suburbs and has been carefully developed by QM Properties over the past 20 years. Once complete, the estate will feature over 900 homes.

Looking ahead, Mr Ross said QM Properties had around 600 blocks still to develop in the Lockyer Valley, including future stages of The Fairways and an upcoming community, Pastures at Gatton, on Woodlands Rd in Gatton.

“We’ve had a long and successful relationship with the Lockyer Valley Regional Council, delivering more than 1600 lots over the past 30 years,” he said.

Among those attending was Lockyer Valley Regional Council Mayor Tanya Milligan, Deputy Mayor Chris Wilson, Cr Cheryl Steinhardt, and State Member for Lockyer Jim McDonald.

Cr Milligan joined QM Properties General Manager Kane Davis and Master Builders Queensland Deputy CEO Sue-Ann Fresneda in a cake-cutting to officially mark the opening of the display village.
