Valentine’s Day Sparks Wedding Boom at Brisbane Registry

LOVE is well and truly in the air, with 20 couples set to say “I do” through the Brisbane Registry today.

The ceremonies follow a record-breaking year for the Registry, which saw more than 2,600 couples exchange vows in 2025. Today’s celebrations mark the second-highest number of Valentine’s Day weddings ever held by the Brisbane Registry.

A dozen ceremonies will take place at the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages on Ann Street, offering couples the chance to tie the knot while enjoying sweeping views across Brisbane.

With Valentine’s Day nuptials growing in popularity, a further eight weddings will be held at the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse, providing an additional romantic city setting for loved-up couples.RBDM ceremonies are conducted year-round by a dedicated team of celebrants, with demand continuing to grow. In 2025 alone, a record 2,616 couples were married through the
