THE Wilkerson family chaos is officially returning to screens, with Disney+ unveiling the first trailer for the highly anticipated revival of the classic sitcom Malcolm in the Middle.
More than two decades after the original series debuted, the four-part limited revival titled Malcolm in the Middle:
Life’s Still Unfair reunites much of the beloved cast and brings the dysfunctional family back together.
The story picks up years later with Malcolm – once the child prodigy navigating a chaotic household – now a father himself.
After more than a decade keeping his distance from the family drama, Malcolm is reluctantly pulled back into the madness when his parents Hal and Lois insist he return home to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.
Original stars Bryan Cranston, Frankie Muniz, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Kennedy Masterson, Justin Berfield and Emy Coligado all reprise their roles, restoring the familiar family dynamic that made the original series a global hit.
The trailer wastes no time setting the tone, opening with Hal – played by Cranston – in a typically outrageous moment as Dewey watches on via video call in disbelief.
Several new characters will also join the revival. Keeley Karsten appears as Malcolm’s daughter Leah, while Vaughan Murrae plays youngest sibling Kelly. Kiana Madeira takes on the role of Malcolm’s girlfriend Tristan, and Caleb Ellsworth Clark steps in as Dewey.
The series is created by original showrunner Linwood Boomer, who returns as writer and executive producer. The revival is produced by Disney Branded Television in partnership with 20th Television and New Regency.
Ken Kwapis directs all four episodes and also serves as executive producer alongside Cranston and several returning members of the original creative team.
The four-episode revival Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair premieres April 10, 2026 exclusively on Disney+.
