PREPARE to pick, plate and pour your way through one of Australia’s most authentic food and farming experiences, as Scenic Rim Eat Local Month returns this June with its biggest program ever and a milestone worth celebrating.
In 2026, the beloved regional festival marks 15 flavour-filled years, growing from a grassroots celebration of local farmers into a nationally recognised showcase of paddock-to-plate excellence.

This year’s program features a record 153 events, including 51 new experiences, with farmers, growers, chefs and artisans opening their gates, kitchens and paddocks across the entire month of June.

The diverse line-up includes 42 on-farm adventures, 40 lunches and dinners, 48 family-friendly events, and 62 workshops and hands-on experiences.

From long lunches on working farms and intimate dinners under the stars, to immersive tours, tastings and family farm days, each event offers a deeper connection to the land and the people behind the produce.

Located just an hour from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the Scenic Rim provides a rare opportunity for visitors to step behind the scenes and experience the journey from farm to fork.

Families are also well catered for, with events such as Little Farmers Day Out at Clandulla Cottages & Farmstay offering a fun and educational introduction to life on the land.

For those seeking a deeper connection to food production, experiences like Forage to Feast at Tommerup’s Dairy Farm provide an opportunity to meet farmers and taste produce at its source.

At the more indulgent end of the spectrum, the Twilight Feast and Luxury Mountain Escape at Verandah House Country Estate promises a refined countryside retreat.

Regional Ambassador Chef Josh Lopez said supporting local producers had never been more important.

“I have always believed food grown locally not only tastes better, but it’s also about the stories, connection to land and legacy we support,” he said.

Scenic Rim Regional Council Mayor Tom Sharp said the event continues to play a vital role in connecting communities with agriculture and driving regional growth.

“From its modest beginnings in 2011, Eat Local Month has provided a significant boost to our rural sector, helping to create jobs and strengthen the region’s prosperity,” he said.

The month will culminate in the much-loved Winter Harvest Festival in Kalbar from June 26 to 28.
