AFTER a four-month hiatus, the Booval Fair Arts Connect Community Art Gallery is back.
Bigger and better and with a new location within the Booval Fair shopping centre, it is now located up near the Post Office in the old Flight Centre premises.
With so much to see, there is sure to be something for all.
From paintings to photography, from timber work to pottery, from jewellery to cards, from tea cosies to recycled fashion, the gallery has covered all tastes and budgets.
Arts Connect Inc, has been going for over 60 years (formerly the Ipswich Arts Council) and is a group of like-minded people who not only create, but appreciate the arts.
The name Arts Connect defines their purpose of connecting the community with and through the arts, supporting all forms of artistic expression including (but not limited to) visual and performance, throughout Ipswich and surrounds.
As well as the gallery, Arts Connect Inc also hosts the ever-growing and popular Ipswich Show Fine Arts, which has seen a huge increase of entries over the past few years, as well as incorporating a very well attended awards night each year.
Arts Connect is also an annual sponsor for the Rosewood and Marburg Fine Arts, as well as being the recipient of many Australia Day awards for best community events.
Over the years, Arts Connect Inc has also seen many of its members grow their art practice to new heights, including building the confidence to exhibit works in both group format as well as inaugural solo exhibitions.
This truly shows that Arts Connect Ipswich Inc lives and breathes its mission and purpose statements.
The gallery is open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 2pm.
