Kambu Health is inviting the community to come together to celebrate the strength, resilience, and rich cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples at its annual NAIDOC Week Community Celebration on Thursday, July 9, from 9am to 2pm at Ferrari Park, Laidley.
This free family-friendly event promises a day of culture, connection, and celebration, with something for everyone to enjoy, cultural performances, live music, face painting, community stalls and plenty of family fun throughout the day.
Kambu Health Board Chair Allan Fisher said the celebration was an opportunity for everyone to stand together in recognising the enduring strength of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
“NAIDOC Week is about recognising the strength of our people, honouring our Elders, celebrating our culture and inspiring future generations. We encourage everyone to come along, connect with community and celebrate with us.”
“Our annual celebration is about coming together, acknowledging our history, celebrating our achievements and inspiring our young people to continue walking proudly in the footsteps of those who came before them.”
The event reflects Kambu Health’s commitment to supporting healthy, strong, and connected Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Ipswich, West Moreton, and the Lockyer Valley.
This NAIDOC Week activity is proudly delivered with funding support from the National Indigenous Australians Agency and the Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free community celebration at Ferrari Park, Laidley.
