Fresh from the Brisbane Writers Festival, award-winning author Kris Olsson will speak at the Cambrian Centre at Booval on July 2 about her encounter with family history.
The Literary Luncheon hosted by Women Writers Queensland will also feature high tea and other entertainment.
Kris will explain the value and difficulties of documenting family stories and suggest ways of dealing with memory and ideas about ‘truth’.
Her memoir Boy, Lost is about growing up in the shadow of a brother she never knew existed.
It won several literary awards and will be staged by the Queensland Theatre Company later this year.
Kris teaches writing and mentors writers.
Her latest novel Shell is about the Sydney Opera House.
This event is for everyone who enjoys a good story and anyone who ever considered scribbling one down.
For a lunch with Kris Olsson, tickets only $35 at Event Brite.
