ITS BEEN a long time between drinks at Queensland Raceway for national events but with Tony Quinn pushing the limit of the famous “Paperclip” it’s been received well by both racers, spectators, sponsors and everyone in between.

Quinn has pumped a lot of time and money into bringing the track up to today’s standards from viewing areas, shade, toilets, lighting and everything that makes a day out in the sun that little bit more comfortable for the racers and their families.

Shannons Nationals was the first real exhibit of the new management and the facilities and it went off without a hitch. Big names filling the venue through a variety of categories from grass roots style racing up to the Supercheap Auto TCR Series and Fanatec GT World Challenge Series.

Names like Shane Van Gisbergen, Tony D’Alberto, Will Brown and Garth Tander hitting the tarmac in front of a mega crowd of over 10,000 screaming race fans is what makes the series so amazing and with Queensland Raceway so accessible you can get great viewing at virtually any corner.

Queensland Raceway is unique as you can see the whole racetrack, all the corners and straights from any angle around the venue so you don’t miss any of the action, and now with the much needed upgrades, the venue has even more spots with elevated viewing platforms, corporate rooms, garages and the most common request a bit more shade.

The team at QR have worked hard under TQ and have really given the venue a new lease at life for racers and race series in the future with even more upgrades to come it’s refreshing to see the money spent.

It will bring many more motorsport fans to our town of Ipswich, which also leads to more money in the local economy.

For all the latest and greatest information to come out of Queensland Raceway head over to Queensland Raceway on Facebook or www.queenslandraceway.com.au
