RECENTLY named among Australia’s most beautiful libraries, Ipswich Children’s Library has further been recognised with the 2022 National Federation Awards ‘Community Service Delivery Award’.
The award contested by councils across Australia, recognises projects that have adopted a different approach to improve service delivery.
Ipswich Children’s Library is a unique space specially designed with a range of literacy initiatives including the bespoke children’s catalogue interface which allows young readers to gain confidence exploring the library’s 35,000-strong collection via a child-friendly, image-based search platform.
The library was invited to enter the National Federation Awards after earlier this year winning the Local Government Manager’s Australia Queensland Excellence Awards for Innovation.
