FRESH from performing with The Australian Ballet at QPAC, Ipswich actor Macauley Rapmund has another reason to celebrate, with Netflix announcing the upcoming Australian release of The Mosquito Bowl.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Peter Berg, the World War II film will be released in Australia in November, marking another exciting milestone in the emerging Ipswich actor’s career.
The former Ipswich Grammar School student was selected as one of just 20 students from hundreds of applicants who auditioned Australia- wide for a coveted place in QUT’s Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting).
Since graduating, Rapmund has quickly begun building his professional resume.
Most recently, he took to the Lyric Theatre stage at QPAC as part of The Australian Ballet’s Brisbane production of Romeo & Juliet, performing alongside members of one of the country’s most celebrated performing arts companies.
“Performing at QPAC with The Australian Ballet was an incredible experience and one I’ll never forget,” Rapmund said.
The film production brought Rapmund onto set alongside an international cast including Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Galitzine and Ray Nicholson.
“To go from studying acting at QUT to finding myself on a major film set working alongside actors of that calibre has been surreal,” Rapmund said.
Rapmund has also worked on the upcoming feature Honeymoon with Harry, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Kevin Costner, adding another major international production to his growing list of credits.
Despite his growing list of professional credits, Rapmund remains proudly connected to the city where his acting journey began.
“Ipswich will always be home,” he said.
