FAMILIES preparing their little ones for the big step into school will have the chance to see kindergarten life firsthand when Amaroo Early Learning and Development Centre opens its doors to the community later this month.
The centre will host a Kindergarten Open Day on September 28, giving parents and carers an opportunity to explore Amaroo, meet staff and learn more about how kindergarten can help children build the skills and confidence they need before starting school.
Kambu Health CEO Dania Ahwang said early childhood education played an important role in giving children the best possible start to their learning journey.
“Kindergarten is a wonderful opportunity for children to build confidence, develop social and emotional skills, learn through play and establish the foundations they need to feel confident and ready for school,” Ms Ahwang said.
She said preparing children for school extended well beyond teaching the traditional basics of letters and numbers.
“Being school ready is about more than learning letters and numbers,” she said.
“It is about helping children develop independence, resilience, communication skills and positive relationships so they can confidently take their next step into school.”
Amaroo Early Learning and Development Centre aims to provide a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where children can grow in confidence.
Ms Ahwang said the centre welcomed children and families from across the community.
