Last weekend’s Anzac round of the NRL was nothing short of amazing, with sensational games and results.

The gutsy win by the Tigers over the Sharks topped off one of the best rounds of the season so far. No doubt the men from Cronulla were the media darlings, but

Benji’s boys just kept turning up and getting the job done.

Benji has done a great job at the Tigers because he inherited a shambles and has slowly got them playing as a team – his team. Most NRL clubs play a very structured type of game, whereas it seems the Tigers just back up whoever has the ball.

And the Tigers coach has demonstrated excellent man management skills, in his handling of the Lachlan Galvin circus. The team spirit was there for all to see on Sunday against the Sharks, and I have no doubt that win was for their coach.

But I actually have felt a bit for the Warriors this week, because after hammering the Newcastle Knights 26-12, and now sitting comfortably in fouth position on the ladder, I don’t think they have received the media recognition in NZ they deserve.

Keep in mind, this is a rugby union dominated country, with the New Zealand Rugby Union holding a 5 per cent share holding in the SKY TV network who broadcast the NRL.

But anyhow, now I have that off my chest I definitely need to talk about the Broncos, what a great performance against the previously unbeaten Bulldogs!

And I think on the end of a 42-18 shellacking, that scoreline certainly flattered the Dogs. All their composure and calmness was missing.

It was a performance by the Broncos that has been just waiting to happen. And now there will be plenty of fingers crossed in hoping the injury to Adam Reynolds, Brisbane’s gun number 7, is nothing too major.
