AUSTRALIA will maintain its opposition to Russian fuel imports despite a US move to secure diesel supplies from that country, Federal Energy Minister Chris Bowen has said.
According to a report by Drive, Mr Bowen ruled out following the US approach, saying Australia was working with trading partners to prevent Russian fuel entering the country.
“We don’t need or want Russian fuel in Australia,” Mr Bowen said.
Mr Bowen said decisions made by other countries would not alter Australia’s position.
