BRISBANE’S prince of hoops Max Mackinnon delivered a performance worthy of his basketball bloodline as the Bullets downed South East Melbourne Phoenix 115-105 at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Thursday night.
The son of two-time NBL champion and 2007 league MVP Sam Mackinnon is building his own reputation in Bullets colours, finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in an outstanding all-round display.
Mackinnon knocked down four of his eight three-point attempts as Brisbane claimed the Round 5 contest, leading a balanced offensive effort in which seven Bullets reached double figures.
Jaylin Williams provided an efficient scoring hand with 19 points on eight-of-11 shooting, including three triples from five attempts. Brisbane outscored the Phoenix by 27 points during his time on court, the strongest individual plus-minus of the match.
The Bullets now head south to the Snakepit to take on the Illawarra Hawks at WIN Entertainment Centre this Saturday, with tip-off at 4.30pm.
