AFTER emigrating from the UK in 1973 and calling New Zealand home for 19 years, Barbara Taylor made the move to Australia and has called Ipswich home for the past 20 years.

With her home surrounded by our beautiful flora and fauna, she is spoilt for artistic inspiration.

A self-taught artist, Barbara’s artistry is a harmonious exploration of the diverse beauty that graces our world.

It embraces the vibrancy of the everyday, weaving together elements of landscapes, Japanese gardens, and waterscapes with the elegance of fashion and the enigmatic beauty of koi fish.

Her work is a celebration of raw creativity, expressed through the medium of acrylic painting.

Each piece is imbued with bold colours and a sense of simplicity, capturing the essence of naivety that invites the viewer to engage with the world through a refreshed, unfiltered lens.

The landscapes in Barbara’s paintings are not merely representations of the physical world but are interpretations of the emotional and spiritual connections we share with nature.

In the realm of art, Barbara seeks to evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity. Her paintings are an invitation to explore the world with the uninhibited joy and discovery of a child. Through her bold and daring use of colour, she challenges conventional perceptions, encouraging viewers to embrace simplicity and find beauty in the unadorned and the straightforward.

With works on display and for sale at various locations, painting gives her joy and fulfilment where she aims to inspire and create joy for others.
