AFTER weeks of sorting, testing and tidying up, the Beacon Community Menshed and the Tool Time Ladies are throwing open the doors for a massive clearance sale on Saturday morning at the Beacon Centre on Workshops St, Brassall.
Years of accumulated items – from handcrafted timber pieces to surplus tools and furniture – will be available for the public to browse and buy.
The event aims not only to clear space but also to raise much-needed funds to support the shed’s ongoing activities.
“Over time, we’ve built up a collection of beautiful, useful and unique items,” said Menshed President Colin Schultz.
“Some of these are finished projects just waiting for a good home, others are donated or surplus tools, books, and furniture. All have plenty of life left in them.”
The sale will showcase the remarkable talents of the Menshed and Tool Time members, including wood-turned boxes, decorative timberwork, and pyrography – the art of wood burning – on coasters, breadboards, plaques and even crosses.
“Sometimes we just can’t stop creating,” Mr Schultz said. “Once you’ve made enough for yourself or your family, the extras end up on a shelf waiting for their purpose. This sale helps find that purpose.”
The team has also ensured all electrical items, including tools like scroll saws, have been tested and tagged for safety ahead of the sale.
Organiser John Molhoek said he was looking forward to engaging with the local community on the day.
“It’s always a pleasure to see the public’s enthusiasm,” he said.
“People are often incredibly generous – not just with their purchases, but with their support for what we do here at the shed.”
With trailers and tables packed full of items, the Beacon Menshed’s Clearance Sale promises a bit of everything.
