GREAT food, a cold drink and good company might bring people through the doors of Club Parkview, but its connection to the community goes well beyond the dining table.

The Goodna club has become a popular meeting place for everything from a casual lunch with friends to family dinners, birthdays, celebrations and community events – all while giving back to the region it calls home.

Club Parkview contributes more than $150,000 annually to local charities, community organisations and sporting clubs, supporting causes and groups across the region.

That community spirit will again be on show on Friday, October 30, when Club Parkview hosts its Go Pink Charity Luncheon in support of the West Moreton Health Foundation.

Chances are breast cancer has touched someone in your workplace, family or circle of friends, and the luncheon provides an opportunity to enjoy a day out while supporting patients and families across Ipswich, Somerset, Scenic Rim and Lockyer Valley.

The West Moreton Health Foundation is one of a number of causes Club Parkview has thrown its support behind, with the club also partnering with the foundation for men’s health initiatives.

Cancer Council Queensland has benefited through events including Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, while support closer to home has extended to the YMCA School Breakfast Program, local schools and organisations including Rosies – Friends on the Street and Lisa’s Lunches.

Local sport also has a seat at the table, with Club Parkview supporting regional clubs and teams including Tigers Basketball and the Goodna Rugby League Club.

Its Give for Good initiative provides another way for members to help their favourite community organisations simply by visiting the club, with five per cent of participating members’ purchase totals donated back to registered local groups at the end of each quarter.

It all adds another dimension to a venue already built around bringing people together.

Whether it is meeting mates for a drink, taking the family out for dinner, celebrating a birthday or milestone, or simply enjoying a meal without having to worry about the cooking and washing up, Club Parkview offers a relaxed local destination for just about any occasion.

And sometimes those occasions can achieve something much bigger.

The annual Go Pink Charity Luncheon combines food, entertainment and friendship with an opportunity to support a cause that affects families throughout the community.

It is that combination of hospitality and community spirit that makes Club Parkview more than somewhere to grab a bite to eat.

Every meal, celebration and catch-up helps support a club that, in turn, continues to put money back into the community around it.

So whether the occasion calls for dinner with the family, drinks with friends, a special celebration or getting behind an important local cause, Club Parkview has plenty of reasons to pull up a chair.

And this October, there is an especially good reason to make that chair a pink one.
