THERE is something comforting about a menu that knows exactly what it wants to be: generous, crowd-pleasing and packed with a range of meals that make choosing genuinely difficult but always delicious.

That is exactly the lane Club Parkview has settled into with its refreshed menu launched last week, leaning heavily into hearty pub favourites while still throwing in enough variety to keep diners coming back.

Behind the new direction is newly appointed head chef Chris Celere, who is focused on sourcing local, high-quality ingredients while embracing a back-to-basics philosophy centred on flavour, consistency and classic pub dining done properly.

Supporting Chris in the kitchen is new sous chef Canie Vine, who brings six years of local culinary experience and a clear passion for the industry. Rounding out the team is Chef de Partie Cameron Schofield, who completed his apprenticeship under Chris and has continued developing his craft alongside the experienced head chef.

The standout? The Parkview Burger may well be the hero of the menu.

Loaded with a beef patty, bacon, egg, cheese, pineapple, beetroot, caramelised onion, lettuce and tomato, then finished with smoky BBQ sauce and onion rings, it is unapologetically big, messy and built in true Aussie pub style. It is the kind of burger that requires both hands and several napkins.

The chicken range is equally ambitious. The Queenslander Parmigiana pushes beyond the standard pub parmi formula by adding avocado, bacon and hollandaise sauce, while the Hawaiian version doubles down on nostalgic comfort food territory with pineapple and ham over Napoli sauce and melted mozzarella.

Seafood fans are not left behind either. The Salmon and Prawns combines crispy skin salmon with mash, broccolini and garlic cream prawns for a dish that feels more bistro than basic club dining, while the Captain’s Catch offers the full seafood basket experience for those chasing variety.

Among the starters, the cob loaf remains a classic crowd favourite, packed with cream cheese, bacon and onion, while the corn ribs with sriracha mayonnaise add a modern pub-menu twist. The smoky BBQ wings also look built for sharing.

One of the strongest parts of the menu is its affordability. The $15 lunch specials provide serious value, with options including schnitzels, battered fish, bangers and mash and crumbed steak available daily. Families are also well catered for, with kids meals including drinks and ice cream helping keep the budget under control.

Importantly, the menu does not try too hard to reinvent pub dining. Instead, it focuses on doing the classics properly with generous portions, familiar flavours and enough variety to satisfy almost every table.

For an easy weeknight dinner, a post-work feed or a weekend meal with the family, Club Parkview’s new menu feels like a big step forward and a reminder that sometimes the best meals are the ones that simply deliver exactly what people want.
