DR Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) and the team at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital embark on their final rounds as the acclaimed US medical drama, The Good Doctor, returns for its seventh and final season.
This 10-episode farewell season promises to deliver heartbreak, hope, and intense life-and-death scenarios.
Fans will also be thrilled by the return of two beloved characters, with producers assuring a “great, great ending” to Shaun’s story.
“We are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and the message we’ve been privileged to share,” said co-showrunners David Shore, Liz Friedman, and executive producer Erin Gunn.
“We look forward to giving our fantastic fans, the extraordinary Freddie Highmore, the rest of our talented actors, and the best crew in the business the series ending that you all deserve.”
Freddie Highmore, who also serves as an Executive Producer, expressed his gratitude, stating: “Playing Dr Shaun Murphy has been an immense privilege and one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life. Caring deeply is what got us here. Thank you to everyone who has watched along at home.”
The unforgettable final season begins with Shaun and Lea (Paige Spara) navigating parenthood, debating the importance of schedule and routine for their son, Steve. Meanwhile, Shaun faces his first case back at the hospital involving two babies in need of the same heart.
