Just off the Warrego Highway at Plainland, Grumpy’s Diner is setting the benchmark as the best retro diner and place to eat with a delicious menu, car culture, décor that harks back to the 50s retro era and great service to boot.

Grumpy’s Diner was born out of a passion and love for bringing family and friends together over great must-have eats – and the packed-out restaurant shows the team have hit the bullseye with this goal.

There’s a great atmosphere filled with kids’ laughter and memories being made, and that is even before you taste what they have to offer on the menu.

A staple of diner food opens the meal with loaded fries in either chicken, cheese and bacon or pulled brisket, cheese, and gravy. The pulled brisket option draws together the tenderness of perfectly cooked brisket and gravy partnered in a sublime combination for the tastebuds.

Burgers, hotdogs, pastas, pizzas and more – Grumpy’s Diner has it on the menu. How can you go past their foot-long hotdogs.

Do yourself and your tastebuds a favour and try The Fonz Dog – a footlong hotdog with bacon, cheese, onion, tomato sauce and mustard on a banh mi roll with a side of chips.

No visit to a diner of this calibre is ever complete without a milkshake that will make you feel like you are stepping off the set of Grease or Happy Days.

The desserts list is long, with a range of fritters, banana split, waffles, and the diner’s Mikky Bee’s Famous Desert Calzones .

The banana and white chocolate calzone will top off the perfect meal and have you coming back for more at Grumpy’s Diner.

The diner is open for lunch Tuesday to Friday 11am-2pm and dinner from 4.30-9pm. Saturday and Sundays the doors are open from 8am-9pm.

Head to 4424 Warrego Highway at Plainland and see for yourself that while Grumpy’s Diner may be the new kid on the block, but is far from being a one hit wonder!
