A CAMPAIGN to spread love, compassion, and support to foster children has been launched in “Hope in a Suitcase”.

Run by a partnership between Region Group, Knight Frank Australia and not-for-profit organisation Founded, the initiative aims to provide foster children with a suitcase of hope, filled with essential items they can call their own, offering a temporary distraction from the turmoil they unfortunately face during challenging times.

Hope in a Suitcase packs are filled with new clothing, pyjamas, underwear, toiletries, toys, books, and school supplies to support local children in emergency housing, foster and displaced children. Giving children their very own suitcase to pack their belongings in, showing them that their lives are worth more than a plastic bag.

“With a rising number of children entering foster and out-of-home care, Region Group and Knight Frank Australia recognised an opportunity to make a meaningful impact,” Knight Frank Region Group marketing manager Sarah Moulds said.

“After extensive collaboration, a plan was set for our centres to assist in the best way we could, by collecting donations from our compassionate community and have these donations reach a charity that is truly making a difference.”

Founded founder Rachael Clancy said the partnership delivered the campaign with the lives of so many in mind.

“Every child, every day, no matter what, deserves to feel loved, safe, and hopeful. The effects of Hope in a Suitcase go beyond the direct impact of the resources they provide,” she said.

“Children with a strong sense of self-worth feel competent to cope with the basic challenges of life and feel worthy of success and happiness.”

The campaign aims to supply over 1000 much-needed essential items to children in need, with the shopping centres to supply 16 completed suitcases as a pledge to support and kick off this vital donation drive.

You can help by dropping any required items into the donation box located at participating centres, with Brassall Shopping Centre the only participating drop-off centre in the Ipswich region.
